National Council on Problem Gambling Announces Resignation of Executive Director Heather Maurer
Washington, D.C. – The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) Board of Directors today announced the resignation of Heather Maurer as Executive Director. Maurer will continue in her role through October 16, 2026, to assist with the leadership transition. The organization has immediately begun a national search for a successor.
“With the dedicated commitment and depth of experience of the NCPG staff, we assure all of our advocacy, programs and services will carry on seamlessly during the search process,” said Derek Longmeier, president of the NCPG Board of Directors. “The need for NCPG’s work to prevent and reduce gambling-related harm has never been greater, and we will continue to build on the strength of our partnerships with Affiliates, members, and stakeholders to meet the challenges ahead.”
