NCPG Issues Black History Month Proclamation

Washington, DC – The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) under the leadership of their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and Board of Directors issued the following proclamation for Black History Month:

“Resolved, the Board of Directors of the National Council on Problem Gambling issues the following proclamation that we:

Recognize the importance of Black History Month as an opportunity to reflect on the complex history of the United States, while remaining hopeful and confident about the path ahead;

Acknowledge the significance of Black History Month as an important opportunity to commemorate the tremendous contributions of Black Americans to the history of the United States;

Encourage the celebration of Black History Month to provide a continuing opportunity for all people in the United States to learn from the past and understand the experiences that have shaped the United States; and

Call on all individuals and organizations involved in gambling issues to aggressively address racial and ethnic disparities in prevention, education, treatment, enforcement, research, responsible gambling and recovery when making both policy and funding decisions.”
