Understanding the Rise of Prediction Markets in Gambling
Feb 10 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Prediction markets are platforms where participants buy and sell shares based on the likelihood of future events, using collective forecasting to predict outcomes. While originally developed as tools for aggregating information, they are now being adapted and promoted as a new form of gambling. As prediction markets expand and shift toward gambling applications, they pose new challenges for regulation, responsible gambling, education, and treatment – requiring new approaches to oversight, awareness, and support. Understanding how these markets operate is vital as they evolve from financial tools to gambling opportunities, bringing new risks and further blurring the boundaries between investing and betting.
