    The Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM) Kick off event is a virtual event to learn opportunities to promote the societal benefits of prevention, treatment, and recovery for gambling disorder. This webinar will provide an opportunity for people in recovery and family members to share their experiences, applaud the contributions of treatment providers, and promote the message that recovery in all its forms is possible. This webinar will discuss an overview of problem gambling & the importance of community awareness, highlight the work of the 2020 youth leadership public service announcements, and have a panel sharing stories of gambling recovery. This webinar will enable participants to develop an understanding that behavioral health is essential to overall health, that prevention works, treatment is effective, and people can and do recover.

    Learning Objectives:
    1. Define what is gambling & problem gambling
    2. Identify warning signs of problem gambling, differences/similarities between problem gambling & substance use including risk factors
    3. Develop an understanding of what recovery looks like from gambling & the impacts in has on family members and the community
