The growing trend of research aimed at exploring the issues related to problem gambling has raised many questions in its association with drugs, alcohol, and mental health. This training is aimed at identifying the interconnectedness of problem gambling to addiction and mental health within clinical practice. Strategies for managing treatment barriers and best practices will be shared and discussed. Also, the DSM-5 reclassification of Gambling Disorder has created clinical opportunities in the treatment of addiction. The new diagnostic criteria of Gambling Disorders, as well as their relationship to clinical practice, will also be discussed.
