2019 Board Nominations

The Board of Directors of the National Council on Problem Gambling invites NCPG Members to nominate candidates for Board positions that will be effective July 2019. Serving on the NCPG Board of Directors is an opportunity to join other dedicated individuals in becoming a driving force behind the success of the National Council’s mission. Your leadership and expertise can help build NCPG Membership, guide policies, implement strategies and achieve organizational goals to serve all those affected by problem gambling.

Board Members enjoy unique opportunities to use and increase their contacts in the field as well as the entire scope of their skills and experience. And what better way to leave your mark on the problem gambling field than to serve as an NCPG Board Member?

Every year there are five Directors whose terms are ending. This year they are:

  • Stephen Crosby (Individual)
  • Chelsea Turner (Organizational)
  • Roger Olsen (Affiliate)
  • Carolyn Hawley (Affiliate)
  • Marlene Warner (Affiliate)

There are three open seats in the Affiliate category, one in the Organizations category and one in Individuals. Marlene has completed 2 full terms and is thus unable to run for re-election. The other four are eligible to run for re-election if they so choose.

How can you participate?

We invite NCPG Members to nominate candidate(s) in the NCPG membership category to which you belong, to be placed on the 2019 ballot. In accordance with NCPG bylaws, if you are an Affiliate Representative or Affiliate Peer Member, you may nominate only Affiliate Representatives. If you are an Organizational Representative or Co-Member, you may nominate only Organizational Representatives. If you are an Individual member, you may nominate only other Individual members (including Lifetime Individual, Individual Plus, Joint, Joint Plus, Student and Honored Senior members). Each member may nominate up to two candidates.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must be current members of the National Council on Problem Gambling and have been a member for at least 12 months in the previous 36 months in one or more categories. Their current Membership must be in the category for which they are nominated. Please contact the NCPG office if you have any questions about your Membership status.

How to Make a Nomination

If you wish to nominate someone, please first confirm that they are willing to serve, meet the membership requirements, and are in the same Membership category as you are. Candidates may also self-nominate.

For each candidate, two forms must be completed online by Monday, May 6, 2019:

The process to nominate yourself is similar – complete both forms online. That’s all it takes to make a nomination!

Nominations Deadline

All nomination forms must be submitted online by 5:00 PM EDT on Monday, May 6, 2019.

Voting

Voting will begin on May 15 and end at 5:00 PM EDT on Tuesday, May 28.

All current NCPG Members are eligible to vote on all positions. The Nominations and Elections Committee will tabulate the ballot results and those individuals elected will be contacted by the Committee.
