Topic: Gambling & Gambling Problems in the Military

Description: NCPG has long been focused on gambling problems amongst military personnel and veterans. Monsignor Dunne’s experiences as an Army Chaplain in WWII and Korea and Dr. Custer’s work in the Veterans Administration system were a big part of their motivation to found NCPG. Throughout the years, many NCPG leaders have been involved with the VA, and particularly the Brecksville VAMC, home of the oldest residential treatment program for gamblers. This webinar will focus on research and policy developments over the past decade, including recent NCPG legislative advocacy that led to the ground-breaking GAO report on Gambling Addition in the Military and ongoing efforts in the current Congress. Keith will review the latest drafts of our legislation and discuss how members can help at the grassroots level.
