Awards
NCPG AWARDSEach year NCPG honors individuals and organizations for their work on problem gambling issues. The Awards Committee oversees the Custer, Goldman, Industry, Media, Government, Service Awards, while the Research Committee conducts the Research, Dissertation and Master’s Thesis Award. The current awards criteria may be downloaded below. The NCPG awards have undergone many changes in our 38 years, so the current criteria do not necessarily apply to previous awards. The list below contains the most complete information available. Previous award winners can be found here. All nominations for awards must meet individual criteria to be considered. Any nomination that either does not meet criteria, is incomplete or received after due date for nominations may not be considered. All nominations must be e-mailed, faxed or postmarked by Friday, April 23, 2010. Materials that are required to be included with the nomination must also be e-mailed, faxed or postmarked by the designated date. Nominations must be received in the designated format to be considered. The Awards Committee reserves the right to solicit additional information regarding nominees at any time. Award winners are selected based on the merits of the nomination materials. It is extremely important that your submission(s) for nomination(s) be complete. Since many of the members of the awards committee may not be familiar with your nominee, it is vital that your nomination materials provide adequate information regarding the justification for the award. This information should include specific examples, verification of facts, letters of support, and any other items necessary to make your case. A poorly crafted or incomplete nomination may cost your candidate the award. All nominees will be recognized by name at the NCPG annual Awards event.
