NCGC Recertification

Counselors must be re-certified every three years through evidence of 60 hours of approved non-repetitive continuing education, 30 of these hours must be gambling specific approved hours. The remaining 30 hours (nonspecific) can be obtained through a variety of methods including: college courses, conferences, seminars, training programs, etc. in the behavioral health field. All of the continuing education and training requirements must be new and non-repetitive.

In order to renew please submit the following information: 

  • Documentation of continuing education units, (60 for the past three years – 30 of which must be gambling specific)
  • Re-certification fee of $95.00 for three years. Click here to pay online. Fees are non-refundable.
  • Completed A.1 Update Form (Click here to download and fill out electronically)
  • Completed A.3 Directory Authorization Form (Click here to download and fill out electronically)

Please note that your continuing education units must be from trainings held after your certification date or most recent re-certification date. In order to keep your certification current, please send all materials prior to your certification expiration date. If you need additional time to obtain these CEUs kindly notify us in writing and you may be granted a one year extension.
